About Us

A number of tourist and trader operators from the Gaoth Dobhair area who attended the successful Donegal Live Day in Temple Bar, Dublin recently, have come together to form the Gaoth Dobhair Tourist and Traders committee to promote and help develop the area.

The immediate aim of the new committee is to develop a multi-lingual website www.discovergweedore.ie that is currently under construction. The site will give wide ranging information about the Gaoth Dobhair area, its facilities, businesses etc.

The long-term aims of the group for the coming year are: to open a Fáilte Ireland Tourist Office in the area, to run a Cultural Festival, explore the possibility of Blue Flag beaches in the area, enter the area in the National Tidy Towns competition, and finally to promote and develop the walks in the parish.

An executive committee was elected at the meeting and they include, Chairman - Patrick McGarvey, Bunbeg Holiday Homes, Vice-Chairperson - Mary McFadden, Teach Jack, Secretary - Eilis Barrett, Donegal Airport, Assistant Secretary - Maire Campbell, Teach Campbell, Treasurer - Jimmy Boyle, Seaview Hotel.
